After many years away from photography, I finally picked up a camera again. Transitioning from film to digital had been a struggle for me. Film had fallen out of favor, and digital was taking over, but it just didn't feel right. In my view, digital cameras stripped away the artistry—they were too computerized, too cold. I missed the tactile experience of film: working in the darkroom, the stacks of paper, burning and dodging, mixing chemicals, and hanging my prints to dry. Even the smell of the chemicals, whether good or bad, made it feel like I was creating something epic. Now, a new generation of photographers have rediscovered film, and it's become easier to find supplies again. So, I've dusted off my old film cameras and started to shoot film again. That said, I also bought a digital Fujifilm X100V. I have to admit—I love this camera. I’m not sure how it happened, but I’ve fallen in love with photography all over again. I’m planning several upcoming shows (dates TBA), where I’ll pair my photography with another passion award-winning handcrafted wines that I represent plus a few of my favorite cigars where allowed. My archive is filled with incredible work—street photography, celebrity shots from events I attended, news wire photos, and so much more from the late 70s, 80s, and 90s. I always carried a camera in my wine bag, never wanting to miss the perfect shot and I have a lot I can’t wait to share with you.
